Dust: The Boardgame

MSRP: $59.95

1938: A secret German expedition to Antarctica discovers the ultimate weapon – an alien spacecraft with a living crewmember!

1950: Everything has changed. The Second World War rages on with no end in sight. There are no more nations, no more alliances. There is only…DUST. A world where reverse-engineered alien technology has given us walking tanks, as well as fighters and bombers that look more like flying saucers than what we know today, the world of Dust is both very similar to the Earth we know, and also quite different.

Players take control of the high-tech armies of this brave new world in a struggle for the future!

Including a large game board and over 800 plastic playing pieces, Dust features a card-based system that controls initiative, movement, and production, while combat is resolved quickly and easily with the included custom dice.

Dust is a strategy board game for 2-6 players.

The world of Dust, popular for years in Europe, will make a huge impact all over the world this year with the publication of a new series by Image Comics based on the rich alternate history created by renowned artist Paulo Parente.

TANNHÄUSER

Price: $59.95

Kingsburg

$60.00 SRP

2 – 5 Players - 90 Minutes - Ages 10 and up

In Kingsburg players are Lords sent from the King to administrate frontier territories.

The game takes place over five years, a total of 20 turns. In every year there are 3 production seasons for collecting resources, building structures, and training troops. Every fourth turn is the winter, in which all the players must fight an invading army. Each player must face the invaders, so this is not a cooperative game.

The resources to build structures and train troops are collected by influencing the advisers in the King's Council. Players place their influence dice on members of the Council. The player with the lowest influence dice sum will be the first one to choose where to spend his/her influence, this acts as a way of balancing poor dice rolling. Even with a very unlucky roll, a clever player can still come out from the Council with a good number of resources and/or soldiers.

Each adviser on the King's Council will award different resources or allocate soldiers, victory points, and other advantages to the player that was able to influence him/her for the current turn.

At the end of five years the player that better developed his assigned territory and most pleased the King through the Council is the winner.

Many alternate strategies are possible to win: will you go for the military way, disregarding economic and prestige buildings, or will you aim to complete the big Cathedral to please the King? Will you use the Merchant's Guild to gain more influence in the Council or will you go for balanced development?

Pentago (Natural)

$24.95

Pentago is a fantastic new 2-player abstract strategy game from Sweden. The rules are very easy to learn. Place a glass marble in one of the nine spaces, on one of the four blocks. Now rotate any one of the playing blocks 90° in either direction. That's it! The winner is the first player to get five of their color in a row. Each game generally lasts no longer than 10-20 minutes, and the game has a very satisfying strategic element.

Turning the blocks constantly changes the game board, your tactics and your opponents’ tactics.  This simplicity, yet depth of play, is why the game is destined to become a modern classic and a must-have coffee table piece.

The Good, the Bad, & the Munchkin

$24.95 SRP

The Good, the Bad, and the Munchkin opens a whole new frontier - the Wild West! Forget dragons and goblins - Jackalopes and Davy Croc have just as much treasure. Those plains may seem wide open, but there are lots of monsters to kill, and lots of stuff to take.

Become a Cowboy with a Twenty-Gallon Hat, or an Indian on a Catamount. Fight Wild Bill Hiccup, the Killer Jalapeno, and a Barber Shop Quartet. Take The Annual Bath for an extra level. Or just pal around with your sidekick the Greenhorn, until you sacrifice him to distract a monster.

The Good, the Bad, and the Munchkin is the next stand-alone game in the award-winning Munchkin line. Steve Jackson and John Kovalic have teamed up again to put puns to paper like no one else can. Head 'em up and move 'em out, and get ready to wander the Grim Roper into somebody else's combat and make him "Rootin' Tootin'" for +10 . . .

Hannibal: Rome vs Carthage

$64.95 SRP

2 Players - 2 ½ Hours Playing Time

Valley Games is proud to present Mark Simonitch’s Hannibal: Rome vs. Carthage.  One of the greatest military commanders and tacticians in history descends on the Roman Empire once again. Do you face him as Rome and try to ward the invasion that comes from the North, or do you climb atop your war elephant and show Rome you will take that which they hold most dear: their territory.

Designed with all new artwork from Kurt Miller this is a reprint of the very popular Avalon-Hill version from 1996. The game uses the popular card system, which first appeared in Avalon Hill's We the People, to recount the Second Punic War from 218 to 203 B.C. Players use strategic-level cards for multiple purposes: moving generals, levying new troops, reinforcing existing armies, gaining political control of the provinces involved in the war, and generating historical events.  When two armies meet on the battlefield, a second set of cards, called Battle Cards, are used to determine the winner. Ultimately both players seek victory by dominating both fronts: military and political.
